Courses are suited to beginners through to intermediate.

Courses run for 2.5hours x 8 weeks.

Classes are limited to 7 students per class.

No classes are held on Public Holidays.

Course Description:

Students will be guided through the process of forming a vessel on the wheel. Techniques covered include wedging and preparing clay, centering, forming shapes, turning and glazing.

For those seeking to build on already established foundational skills, more advanced techniques such as handles, spouts and galleries will be demonstrated.

Students will be notified 1 - 2 weeks after course completion when their glazed work has been fired and is ready for collection.


Materials:

  • All clay, tools and glaze materials are provided.

  • Students will receive one bag of clay per course. Additional clay can be purchased at studio rate.

  • Students can fire up to 12 pieces per course, additional firing can be done for $10/kg.


Students are required to bring/wear:

  • An old towel they don’t mind getting clay on.

  • An apron, smock or large shirt they don’t mind getting clay on.

  • Closed toe shoes.

Terms + Conditions

  • All bookings are final once payment is made. Studio Frith cannot offer a refund due to change of mind/circumstance.

  • Courses must reach a minimum 2/3 capacity to take place – a full refund will be offered if classes do not reach minimum capacity.

  • While I do my best to accomodate anyone who misses a class, make up classes depend on class numbers (as there are only 7 wheels available).

  • If you cannot attend the final week for glazing you may be able to join another class or have your work glazed for you in a selection of studio glazes.

  • Students aged between 12-18 years must be accompanied by an enrolled adult.
